A very important holiday for David's new boots!
The first Saturday we walked from Blockley round Batsford Arboretum. A very pleasant walk with good views of the deer at Batsford.
Sunday involved a trip to Chedworth Roman Villa (NT), followed by a walk round the woods, and a visit to Bourton on the Water. There are lots of Roman sites locally, probably because of the nearness of the Fosseway.
The photos below are taken at the model village...
This was through the window of the model church!
After visiting the model railway exhibition, ice-creams were consumed! Evening meal at the Crown in Blockley.. bit pricey fro bar food!
A longer walk was due on the Monday, so we retraced our steps to Bourton on the Water, and walked from there to Upper and Lower Slaughter...
A view towards Lower Slaughter
Back at Bourton on Water, we had bets on 2.30 duck race. Number 64 was lost
without trace.
At the end of the day we went to Snowshill Manor (NT). Evening meal at teh Great Western in Blockley.
Tuesday ( my Birthday!) involved a lovely walk from Mickleton via the Hidcotes. Half way round we visited Hidcote Manor gardens (NT) - well worth a visit.
