One day in February 2000 we started to weed the rockery. We ended up removing all the weeds, all the rocks, and all the patio. Below are a few photos showing what happened.
Before:
This is a rather old photo, that doesn't really show how small and awful the old patio was. Most of it was between 4" and 6" of cracked concrete on to of old slabs. It took weeks (months) of hard labour to break it all up by hand, and it over-filled a large skip.
During:
The worker is proud of the progress despite calls of, "Are you sure that's straight?"
After:
Was it worth it? Judge for your self. All I want is time to sit on it, but there again, perhaps next year!
